The Dress – Chatsworth House

The Dress – Chatsworth House

When our studio was based in Ollerton we had great neighbours next door, John & Andy and when John told us he was getting married to his love of his life Luan he immediately asked us to be their photographers.  We were over the moon and the icing on the cake was to be told it was at the stunning Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.

Chatsworth House is home to the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire and has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family. It truly is one of the finest country houses we have photographed at.

“The Dress Shot” as we have now fondly called it is always much talked about when we are out and about at wedding fairs and proudly is used by Chatsworth House themselves as their main image on their wedding website.  So a little about the dress.  Luan who is not a girly girl  researched dress designers to begin with and found herself drawn to Ian Stuart who makes lots of french renaissance type unusual style dresses and colours that are a bit over the top.  She came across the “Antoinette”  and thought it was a perfect match for being married at Chatsworth, no dress is going to be too big for this occasion !  The colour ivory gold was and has been the most unusual wedding dress colour I have ever seen and I cannot tell you how exquiste it is in real life !  So a bold and brave move for a tomboy more like girl and boy did it pay off !   Luan you looked incredible !!
